The wedding of my dearest cousin Melanie to an Aussie. Damien. As the best man said, this poem describes Damien as a friend, a lover and a student. Damien, Damien, you aren't quite Australian.
The wedding was beautiful! Mels looked gorgeou in her wedding dress, and Damien look equally good in his tux! I saw loads of people I'd never met or have much was only about 3 years old >.<
People like Kit, Rosemary, Miles, Leonie, and... others. I saw my aunt and uncle, my cousins Melanie and Daniel, my nan, Damien's aunt and uncle, and more people who I can't be bothered to bore you with.
The wedding service finished, they registered their marriage. My cousin was no longer "Miss Cooper" but now, "Mrs Flower". Don't you love Damien's surname? XD
Everyone filed outside for the photographs. I had my picture taken with Daniel, and one with my aunt, uncle, nan, mum and dad. Oh don't we love family gatherings?
Everyone then dispersed to drive up to the reception, which took us one hour. It was in the New Forest, at Burley Manor. We almost drove into some donkeys on the road >.< It was 3pm when we got to the reception. We were given glasses of champagne. They wouldn't one so I got orange juice o.O
Then we had yet more pictures! We were talking with everyone, and then dinner was ready and we went over to the dining hall for a barbeque. Once everyone had eaten they speeches began. First my uncle, as the bride's father. I couldn't hear much of it because we had this little kid at our table who was making a lot of noise >.< Then Damien, the groom, stood to make his speech. Then it was Amber, one of the bridesmaids. Lastly, it was the turn of the best man. Who's name I have forgotton.
"Melanie is a lovely, witty, caring girl who enjoys a challenge. Damien is that challenge."
"At the age of 8, Damien went skiing, not learning much as he preferred to through ski poles at passersby instead of listening to the instructor. At the age of 18 Damien didn't have much mroe luck at skiing. He may have improved, but he skiied of a slope into Italy, only managing to return to France by hitching a ride on a bus."
Then they cut the cake (which tasted very nice, thank you) and we all went outside again. There was a chocolate fountain (
All in all it was an amazing wedding and reception. *picks up another champagne glass*
